Anyone have knowledge of if anyone has cancelled their Soft Skill Mauy Thai DTV and successfully getting approved for a workcation DTV in very quick succession? Or is there a way to get re-approved in another category…?
I have the funds still (plenty over) - I have had a Mauy Thai visa since November - I would prefer to stop training and just have the workcation version of the visa!
YES I should have got the workcation in the first place! Just wondering if this is an option x
Answer summary
The post discusses the possibility of transitioning from a Soft Skill Muay Thai DTV visa to a Workcation DTV visa. The original poster expresses a desire to stop their Muay Thai training and switch to a workcation visa, stating that they have sufficient funds. Comments from others provide conflicting advice on whether a category change is necessary, with some suggesting it is not required unless the visa specifically states the training, while others argue that a change is needed if the original purpose of the visa is no longer being pursued.

Doesn’t reference Muay Thai on your actual visa document? If not then there’s no need to change
WealthyPapaya8811 lol what? Your advice is horrendous. They are one and the same, unless your document states it(which is only face value) it does not matter.
You don't need to change anything. When or if asked by immigration just say you work remotely and show proof. Doesn't matter what your visa was originally approved for.
You need to read that post again. He was denied entry for not having the funds to support himself. The IO said he shouldn't be allowed in if his course has finished, but that is not a valid reason to deny entry, so he made one up. This seems to be a problem that only applies to ppl arriving via Phuket
He didn’t have a return ticket, and then he was informed that his course had ended, the reason is always the same, a lack of funds, as that is simply how the system is designed. Yes, for the time being, this is happening in Phuket.
I have read this story and all the comments very carefully. Do not expect the Thai government to let you live in Thailand for five years in the future based on a six-month course.
