What are the rules regarding the 90-day reporting for foreigners in Thailand, especially around holidays?

Hi all, just a note, not sure if this is a known thing but it was new to me.

I went to do my 90 day report today when the offices (CW) opened as my online application was rejected. The officer claimed all holiday days were counted and fined me the 2k. My due date was the 8th but the rejection came on the 9th and I was travelling to Krabi on the 10th so couldn’t go in person.

It seems they don’t halt the 7 days post due date over a holiday.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion highlights the strict timeline for 90-day reporting for foreigners in Thailand, emphasizing that holidays do not extend the reporting period. The original poster was fined for missing the reporting date due to a rejected online application and holiday travel. Responses clarify that the 90-day reporting can be done 15 days before the due date and up to 7 days after, but exceptions for holidays or weekends do not apply. There is also mention of possible recent changes in the online reporting system and the importance of submitting reports early.

A bit of a side note.

TM47 online system has been accepting reports between 15 days before and the due date.

Since the system update recently, we heard some people got their reports rejected and the email said the report has to be submitted 15 days - 8 days before. BUT, there is no official information or confirmation I could find so far anywhere around the system. The user guide of TM47 says as attached (still).

As the online system accepts your report 15 days in advance of your due date, submitting your report earlier enough might be an idea.

yer that’s something I saw as well but when I spoke to them today they just said between 10 and 15 days before (so many different messages)

The holiday rules are for the 30 days excemption. You get the stamp overstay (with mention not fined due to holidays), but don't have to pay the 500 bahts/day fee.

@Wolf *****
you got your wires crossed, we are talking 90 day reports which would never apply to a tourist class entry stamp, and nothing to do with overstay fines.

there's NO grace period for the 90 day report filing. You Already have up to 15 days before the 90 day report due date and 7 days after, including weekends and holidays.

not at all.

I know exactly the difference, thanks.

On this group often questions concerning overstay and reporting delays are raised and the fine during immigration holidays.

This was only an explication why some time you are fined and why sometimes not 🙏.

keep it simple and answer the question that was asked, not the question you wished they would have asked. Regardless your answer makes zero sense in the scope of the question

maybe read also the answers to the initial post and you will see my post make sense.

Your post to me are useless and a waste of time, because absolutely no additional information to the followers.

Have a great day and I we will stop now to scam the other followers with our semantic discussions 🙏

It's called 90 days reporting for a reason. Because it's 90 days regardless if it's holidays or not

Did you find out why it was rejected online?

my guess is it was outside of the window. I’d seen conflicting accounts online about the reporting window and had read it was doable 15 days before and all the way to the due date. I’m pretty sure that information is incorrect.

I got a reminder on 14th April (for 29th) and submitted it the same day. It was approved on 15th.

If you applied too early, they would normally add a message on the rejection telling you so.

90 days is 90 days 🤔

Why didn't you do the report earlier, you can do it 14 days before the old one expires

I try to do the on line report 14 days prior to the due date as you mention because if it fails it leaves you plenty of time to schedule an in person report before the due date. You could also do a report by registered mail but the Immigration website suggests sending it 15 days prior to the due date and they recommend contacting immigration if you don’t get a reply within a month. Don’t forget to include a self addressed envelope with a stamp if you do this otherwise you will never get a reply!

They are correct,

There is no exception for holiday or weekends, the due date is the due date, and you have 2 weeks before that date to one week after that date to report 😮

If your due date was the 8th you could have reported any time after the 25th of March until the 15th of April, (that some of those days immigrations was closed doesn't factor in 🙁 )

I’d seen the previous post on the 28th March about holiday closures and applied the same logic to the 90 day. A mistake made and hoped will help others
