TLDR : Answer Summary
Many users have reported issues transferring money from Wise to Krungthai Bank, with transfers frequently bouncing back. Some attribute this to updates in banking policies, such as stringent verification processes or limits based on account types. While Kasikorn and SCB banks appear to maintain swift transfer speeds, issues with Krungthai may stem from mismatched name details or changes in their acceptance of international transfers. Recommendations include checking account details for accuracy, using alternative services such as Remitly, and ensuring updated information with local banks.
Western Union $ 14.99, then go pick it up in cash, @ Thai bank that has Western Union. Krungthai Bank does I get mine from US monthly. Then I deposit 70,000 Bhat in my Krungthai Bank Account.
FYI, I just transferred from my Wise to my KTB account less than 12 hours ago.
I'd say it worked just like usual, but it was slightly different. Within seconds I saw the balance updated in the KTB app (as usual), but I didn't get the notification of the deposit, or the funds appearing as available until 3-4 hours later. It usually all happens within seconds.
Maybe they're having issues at the moment, or they increased dilligence and reviews 🤷
There seems to be a problem if you are transferring to any account that is not held by a thai national. I can send to thai national accounts fine from wise for kasikorn and krung thai but any other account holder it bounces back.
I had the exact same problem! You probably just need to adjust the name in the transfer template. It has to match your Thai account exactly. For example, until December, a transfer worked for me without specifying the second first name. Since December, I have to enter the full name. Then it works fine.
Yeah...its a pain....they reject the transfer days later and over the weekend...its like almost a week later no one gets paid and ur funds are in limbo.
Wise doesn't work like other transfer companies. Mostly, they match transactions in your home country, with transactions in Thailand. They basically shuffle money around inside both countries to make everyone whole. That can take longer.
If you're looking for an instant transfer service, it's probably not your choice. The bigger the amount, the harder it might be to match. What time of day it is in both countries may affect the speed, as well. And also, what reason you choose for the transfer. Plus, which bank you use.
Rumor has it that Kasikorn is their local partner, but online sources tell me they have many local partners. A transaction may come into k-bank and then go to your bank, if it's not Kasikorn.
If you choose "Funds for long term stay in Thailand" for the reason you're transferring money, Wise will attempt to code your transfer as international, rather than a local transfer (remember, it might come into one Thai bank first, and then transfer to another, thus appearing as a local transfer). I'm not sure what effect that has on transfer speed but I'm guessing it doesn't make it faster
Some transfers may need to be coded as international for immigration purposes.
So, what bank you use, what time of day you transfer, how much you transfer, what reason you choose for the transfer, and what bank you use can all affect the timing. Bangkok bank seems to be slowest at this point.
Wise has cheapest rates and works reliably every month I transfer for the past two years. Includes the last transfer a few days ago. There must be an error in the input. Recently I received an error message stating the name at Bangkok Bank didn’t match exactly. After 15-16 transfers, so I assume a change in policy. Regardless, made the names match exactly and transfer was completed. My guess is it’s something minor causing the kick back.
Firstly the optimum Bank to use with Wise is KBank.
Usually flawless. However you would be most unwise (excuse the pun) to ever rely on it. Yesterday evening I needed to transfer around 40,000 to pay for a TV wanted. Great deal. As normal cash onto my Wise THB account instantly from Singapore . I am to send it to KBank.
In seconds says wise.
Then it informs it will be the following day at 0930. It credited actually at 1200. Sure enough the TV increases in price by 3,000 overnight. That is the reality of Wise or Revolut I am afraid. I know not why.
I send to 2 different banks with Wise and have yet to have an issue. Although the transfer times range from 10 seconds to 5 days depending on the amount. Average has been 1 to 2 days lately.
I dropped Wise a year ago, they wanted documents I didn't legally need to provide.
The diversity hire at Wise was very rude and had no idea about anything but reading scripts. Money was released with legal threats, it was withheld for over a week.
You may have to go into the Wise website on your laptop and reconnect your bank account or card. My Canadian bank keeps disconnecting the card roughly every 60 days. Very annoying.
Paul Tidy I'm the same, I'm told Wise has some kind of association with Kbank and this is why transfers to Kbank almost instant. Was a hassle when Kbank had a 50k daily withdraw limit although this has been lifted.
Yes, KrungThai no longer allow international transfer for MM citizens. I just called them and they told me to come to their bank and show proof of work permit and visa.
My bank is Bangkok bank i have been transferring money for four years no problems then i kept on getting my money back what the hell is going on put my middle name into my wise account at Bangkok bank no problems
Aud to Kasikorn through Wise Saturday and I was actually shocked it was instant. . She received the money before I even got the notification from Wise telling me the transfer completed successfully
Brett Lee stupid like some poor grandpa who have not enough money for living in hometown and thats why come here?) oh wait its not your post 😂 or stupid like brokie europeans who in every post spoke shit about russians because all what they can do its only bla bla bla.
Evgeni Olenin well after your comment it's pretty easy to see why you're getting the negative comments that are directed at you and your countrymen. And stereotyping one or two individuals into one country stereotype shows a good indication of your level of Education. Perhaps you would be happier returning to your home country or is that why you run away to Thailand
Experiencing the same problems by using xe, bouncing back a few times and end up transferred directly from my Canadian bank accounts. Krungthai call center told me that they are refusing all the Brokers or third part app. No need to try again, man. Dead end
Mick Schumann same here. Put the transfer through last night at 1800 and received it today at 1100. Also, did a Kasikorn transfer at the same time and received the money today at the same time. I have found that weekday transfers happen within seconds and weekend transfers can be immediate or next day.
Hein Myat Htoo Widely known for last year account telephone number email address has to be updated reaffirmed everyone including local thai they have been closing accounts witch are not updated either update or open new account different bank start again
