I have sent my SCB bank statements, and now they are asking for a copy of the visa I held when I opened the bank account. It was 15 years ago... Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reported that their bank (SCB) requested a copy of the visa they held 15 years ago when they opened their bank account, which they found unusual. Other users chimed in with similar experiences, especially those who applied in Cambodia, noting that they had to provide documentation related to their past visas. There was some confusion and frustration expressed regarding why such an old visa was necessary, with suggestions of providing letters or alternative documentation to clarify the account's opening details.
Yes the same thing happened to me two months ago when I applied in Cambodia.
My account was only a few years old, so I was able to take a picture of the visa stamp. I also included a simple professional letter addressed to the embassy stating when I opened the account. No other proof was requested.
Banks... they're just trying to find ways not to close accounts 😂 Please find a copy of your old visas so we can at least show something to the relevant authorities...
