TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual has dual citizenship (Australian and German) and wants to know which passport to use for entering Thailand approximately three times a year. Community responses indicate that there is no significant difference; both Australian and German passport holders can enter Thailand without a visa and get a 30-day Visa Exempt Entry. It is recommended to check the Thai consulate website for personal travel plans and visa suitability.

oaky I think you need to spend some time on the thai consulate website that serves the area where you live in Australia and see what visa will best suit you for your travel plans, financial ability etc.

Asking a blind question like "what visa gives me the longest time in thailand" is like asking how long is a piece of string.

Good Luck, you have some good advice so far, you can take it from here. .

I'm an Australian and have entered Thailand from 2 times a year to 4 times a year for more than 35 years, I have never been asked proof of funds, onward travel etc,. If you are entering the Kingdom on the correct visa there will never be a problem.

I assume you could buy a return ticket on the spot if they require it upon arrival at Bangkok airport

Depends on how long I am staying, short time visa exempt, longer tourist visa and yes I have extended both at different times, but never back to back. I am married to a Thai and can stay longer, or based on being over 50. But I still work and love coming and spending my time in Thailand.
