My US passport book is filled, I only have 2 pages left, though it doesn’t expire for another 5 years. I made an appointment at the embassy in bkk to get it renewed with a 52 page. Which form do I print and take to the embassy, DS 82 or DS 11 .. im getting conflicting info online.

Thanks in advance .

The user is seeking guidance on which form to use for renewing their US passport while in Bangkok, as there is conflicting information regarding whether to use the DS 82 (typically for mail-in renewals) or DS 11 (for in-person applications). Comments provide various opinions, suggesting DS 82 is for mail-in, while DS 11 is for in-person submissions, and some users recommend bringing both forms just in case. I don’t know what appointment you made, but that’s not how they do it here unless it’s an emergency situation and then you only get a five page passport. That’s good for one year.

A normal 50 page book must be mailed in to their embassy with a address return

From start to finish mine took 2

to 3 weeks. It’s pretty fast if everything is correct when you send it.

I believe it’s a DS 11 page please look online for info that you fill out send in your existing passport

They send you both back with holes, punched in your old one for you to transfer any visa into your new one when you take both to immigration

You must go to the same immigration place that stamped your old passport

Good luck

For a routine renewal of an adult passport that was issued for full validity, the form is DS-82 regardless of whether the application is made by mail or in person.
