Just a quick one.when I renew my British passport from Bangkok, am I still allowed to travel?

I think not as your passport is cancelled even though you still have your original passport you can't use it ?

Answer summary

Once you submit your application for a new British passport at VFS Global in Bangkok, you are not allowed to travel internationally. Your original passport will be cancelled during the renewal process, which confirms your inability to use it for travel.

I concur with

, IF you're in bangkok there's no reason to use an agent to get your new passport. Deal direct with VFS Global on Sukhumvit Soi 13 in the Trendy Building.

An agent can't make VFS get the passport any faster, or do anything you can't do just as easily.

The 5000bt is via an agent. No fees, only the passport cost if you do it yourself. There is no need to use an agent, it's a simple process to apply. I think you can only travel back to the UK on your current passport whilst waiting for a new one.
