Hi, I have a new US passport and I need to transfer my visa over. Does anyone know if I should be in Muang Thong or Chaengwattana? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on where to transfer their visa after receiving a new US passport, specifically asking if Muang Thong or Chaengwattana is the correct location. Comments suggest that Chaengwattana is the right place, especially for educational extensions, but also mention that one might not need to transfer the stamp if they only have a tourist visa. A letter from the embassy, along with both the old and new passports, is advised. Users have had varying experiences, with some completing the transfer successfully at Muang Thong.

that is because you are NOT on a long term extension of stay and don't need to transfer stamps, you just so both passports when you exit the country.

take the paper from your embassy that says you got a new passport inside the country and BOTH passports and go to Chaengwattana. It's the same section that does the the ED extensions (Section N).

You need to have copies of the following, AND to get the form from the front information desk.

about how long does that take? Any fees? I’m heading this afternoon to do just that.

takes as long as it takes and some offices charge you 500 baht to move the stamps. It's free at Chaengwattana.

well I’m heading to chaengwattana—did that 10 years ago with no issue but never know with “hidden fees”—and unfortunately have to also do 90 days with the new emergency passport so have to go down to the other office also
