ORIGINAL POSTER
My retirement visa is due for renewal 4th August 2026. I want to renew as early as possible and have been told 45 days. That being 19th June. Does that now mean I will need to have the 800k balance 3 months before 19th June. I'm thinking it's a yes

TLDR : Answer Summary
For renewing your retirement visa in Thailand, you need to have the required 800k baht balance in your bank account seasoned for a period of two months before applying. Since you plan to renew your visa on June 19, 2026, you should ensure that the funds are in your account well before that date, not three months prior. Additionally, some immigration offices may allow applications 45 days before the extension date, while others may allow only 30 days.

Some offices are 45, some are only 30 before.

The seasoning on the 800K banked money method for 'retirement' extensions is TWO MONTHS before you apply for the extension not three.

The three comes from the fact you have to leave the funds in the account 3 months after you get the extension granted ๐Ÿ™‚

To answer your question;

yes you would need the funds seasoned the time required on the day you apply, not the day your extension runs out
