I have a question about the covid extension. If I saw right it’s continued right?
I came into Thailand with a TR Visa and already did the 30 day extension. It ends on April 30th. My question is when can I apply for the covid extension or what is the best time for it. Right now I’m on Koh Phangan but will be in Bangkok from the 16th April on. Is it best to apply for it in Bangkok or should I do it now to sort it out?
Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The COVID extension for visas is still available and can be applied for starting end of April, closer to the expiration date of your current extension on April 30th. It's advised to wait until just before your current extension runs out, as applying too early may result in losing unused days on your current visa. Applying in Bangkok after April 16th is suggested for convenience, but it's important to note that some immigration offices may stamp applications as 'under consideration,' requiring a return visit to finalize the extension.
Think about where you will be...as most immigration offices initially stamp UNDER CONSIDERATION in your passport and have you return weeks to a month later to CLOSE the UNDER CONSIDERATION stamp.
Many offices will date an initial covid extension from the day you apply. Later ones they usually add on to whatever date you’re stamped to. However each office has its own quirks. They may add on your first and May date subsequent ones from when you apply. Best to ask them first.
Wait until closer to your current 30 day extension stamp running out because sometimes when you apply for the first covid extension it starts the day you apply <- meaning you lose all the days you have left on your current stamp.
Seeing as they approved the program to run until May 24, I'd say go the last week of april when your stamp will expire and apply.
