I'm in USA and applying for an OA visa from the USA. I plan on a one way flight but the e-visa application is looking for a departure date. Do i just make up a date?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for an OA visa while in the USA, you can enter any date within a year of your planned arrival as your departure date, since the visa permits a one-year stay in Thailand. It's noted that other countries, like Australia, also do not require proof of flight bookings for this visa type.

I went through the O-A evisa application successfully about 3 weeks ago (Embassy in Hungary) and although the e-visa system did not ask for my flight ticket only for the date, two days after submission I got an e-mail asking for my ticket as “further document”.
