How long after approval of a DTV visa can I travel to Thailand?

If I get approved for the DTV and get stuck in my country for a few extra months finishing out things, how long do I have to travel to Thailand to begin the process.Meaning If i already am apporoived say todat but cant travel there until feb. Is is valid to begin in 90d or 180. I know the visa is valid for 180d but, best I understand that is from when you land in Thailand, not when it was received. In case I'm incorrect on that, I cannot find anything concrete I may want to wait. I want to go immediately but, things may hold me at home for an extra month or 2. Trying to get my ducks in a row. I asked 1 question and all I got was condescension. If anyone knows the answer, then you are much appreciated. Anyone telling me i'm entitled for wanting to know such things or wait to apply, dont bother answering. I may be able to leave home almost immediately so I want to be ready but, may not due to things I cannot control. I'm not a winter person and dont want to sit around waiting if dont have to. Much thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
Once approved for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) for Thailand, you have a total of 5 years to enter the country, starting from the date of your visa approval. Upon entry, you will receive a 180-day entry stamp. While it's advisable to enter within 90 days to avoid complications, there are no strict conditions stating when you must use the visa as long as it's within this 5-year period. Therefore, if you cannot travel immediately after approval, you can plan your entrance later without losing validity.

Oh sweet heart, it's a 5 year visa love, from date of issue. Come when you can dear.

You have 4 years and 364 days before you can’t enter anymore on this visa. Last date is shown on the visa.

The embassy email replies "You can use DTV visa anytime within visa validation of 5 years.", if you want a clear answer, directly write to embassy email

the printout DTV clearly says "valid from" and "valid until". There is no text that says "visa must be used by"

The visa is valid for 5 yrs from the moment you receive it. If you come to Thailand in 6 months, you'll only have 4,5 years left on the visa. There's nothing written afaik about when to enter however since some embassies say dont apply more than 3 months in advance i recommend you enter within 90 days if possible. I received my DTV 28 Oct and i will enter in mid January. I assume no issues.

The DTV is valid for 5 years from the date approved. Your first entry can be at any time within that 5 years.

You can enter as,many times as you want within that 5 years. Each time you enter you will receive a 180 day entry stamp.

the visa is valid for 5 years and you get 180 days when you enter the county. that can be now, that can be in 3 months, that can be in a year. whenever. you will always get a fresh 180 days on entry

It's valid for 5 years, so enter anytime within that validity. Should be obvious really.

I understand your concern, everywhere I look there is conflicting 'advice', nobody can give an honest or straight answer.

@Myles ******
Is it same as the METV ie enter a day before expiry and you get almost 5.5 years?

It has not. I understand the visa is valid for 5 years and the 180 day reporting. Some of the visas however need to be used, meaning checked in Thailand within 90 days or they expire and you have to apply again. Meaning in this case you get the visa in your home country, great but if you dont even go to Thailand for the first time, to really validate it, for 2 years say. Has it not been validated. Maybe it doesnt matter but in m case, I want to apply now and want to go now but still open ended on wrapping up a couple things that I must. I would love to get there next month and perhaps will but ifthings dont go according to plan, then I may not make it until feb/march. I read somewhere ofiicla but cant remember that a visa must be used by a certain date but, that ma be a short tourist visa. Its worth clarifying.

The answer above is exactly on point. Visa is valid for 5 years from date of issue. You get 180 days on entry. It is not complex. It is straight forward and pretty simple

@Greg *******
nothing about the Thai visa system is straightforward!

@Pygo *******
The DTV rules about 5 year validity from date of issue and 180 days per entry is straight forward. What is complex about that?
