TLDR : Answer Summary
A 90-day Non-O visa is valid from the day it is issued and must be used to enter Thailand within 90 days of issuance. Upon entry, you will receive a 90-day entry stamp, which begins your permitted stay in Thailand. It is important to distinguish that while the visa is issued with a validity date, the permission to stay (entry stamp) starts on the day you arrive.

Robert McBrain for the Non-O visa application through the e-visa online system, there will be special financial proofs to be made, depending on the individual Non-Imm Visa Type you apply for. For the application to the visa, you can use original documents from or of your home country. For the application to the 1-year extension of stay, Immigration only accepts documents originated and/or legalized inside Thailand

Robert McBrain financial proof for the visa is either a bank deposit, or an original income/pension proof. For the 1-year EOS, it either is income affidavit or 12-months of transfers, or a deposit on a Thai account, or a combination of income and deposit

I am sorry but this should be clear..... the expire date is on the visa. If you enter any day before that date, that will be the date that your visa starts.

Fred Naancome Wijnands that's complete nonsense what you wrote . . . . . The day you enter, the visa becomes invalid, it doesn't start. The day you enter, your 90-days admitted stay permit starts and the visa itself becomes invalid for further use

Greg Alexander Pffff . I tell you how it is.... The day you enter Thailand, your visa will be activated from that day. So the 90 days start. What is difficult to understand.

Use you brain and learn to read

Fred Naancome Wijnands sorry, but Greg Alexander was completely correct. You are confusing two different things.

The Visa....(assuming single entry)

is issued by the home country's Thai embassy or Consulate and starts on the day of issue.

It ends either,

on the day you enter Thailand or,

the expiry date printed on it,

... whichever comes first.

The permission to stay....

is stamped into your passport on entry into Thailand giving you 90 days to leave again or extend.

Fred Naancome Wijnands Not quite correct. The VISA commences the day it is issue. The ENTRY STAMP (Permission to Stay) commences on the day of entry - two very different things

A Non-O visa is valid from the day it is issued. You must use it to enter Thailand within 90 days (until the expiration date on the visa). Once you enter within those 90 days, you'll receive a 90-day entry stamp that starts from the day you enter.

It will tell you on the visa. Your 90 days then start when you enter the country
