When do I need to report my residential address to police after arriving in Thailand on a non-B visa for work?

I probably will look stupid for asking this but for my peace of mind (or lack of depending on the answer): At what point after I arrive in Thailand to work at a school do I need to report my residential address to the police? I'm almost through my first 3 month non B visa. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
After arriving in Thailand with a non-B visa, you must report your residential address within 24 hours. This process primarily involves the landlord or you filing the TM.30 form at an immigration office. Although late reporting can result in a fine, many expatriates have shared that not reporting may not cause issues when exiting Thailand, but it could affect future visa extensions or reports if you cannot provide proof of address registration.

Is there a fine involved if I report late?

yeah, IF they require a TM.30 be filed they aren't gonna take any excuse, believe me you're not the first foreigner who tried that ;)

Good Luck, definitely go find out because when you go to get an extension or file a 90 day report and don't have a receipt of having filed a TM.30 you could have issues.

I guess I could try to ask for leniency. I have text messages on my phone from my university bosses saying there is no requirement to register in Nakhon Sawan, and as a new employee in Thailand I trusted their guidance. Not saying it would be accepted as an excuse, but worth a try.

there can be a 1600baht fine for failure to file a TM.30 form within the first 24 hours of you taking up residence.

However you should check with your immigration office and see what their policy is on the TM.30 and the filing of it.

OK. Should I expect any issues at immigration if I exit Thailand and have not gone through this process?

Your landlord or you need to report within 24 hours after arriving at a private address at Immigration Office. Nothing to do with when work or kind of visa. I don't know how the enforcement is in Nakhon Sawan City.
