Dutch DTV approved

Just sharing processs for any fellow Dutch folks and hope it help anyone to navigate their insecurities and hope in approvals.

And Thank you to Thailand for always welcoming foreigners, unlike EU and other countries :-)

**

Processs**

E-Visa, applied online with embassy The Hague Netherlands. Do not require or need to go embassy in person, but they do require you to be in NL during when you submit the DTV visa and during the process, just in case you need to go embassy.

if you’re abroad during the application first day of visa submission, you will be rejected for sure.

I was rejected in July as I was still in Asia, because I thought it will take weeks and apply first only and fly back NL later to collect.

**First time: rejected 15 July 2024

**because I wasn’t in the same country of the embassy (Netherlands)

Second time : Approved 18 Aug 2024

Submitted : Wed 14 Aug (by online eVisa)

Approved: Sun 18 Aug (by email)

Request for additional docs: Yes.

Background profile:

* Dutch national

* official resident with work visa in Singapore

* solo DTV application

* I have a Pte Ltd (BV) company registered in Singapore since 2016

* I am sole director and sole employee

* Company is in retail/wholesale trading and consultancy.

Documents submitted during the first and second DTV application:

* passport bio page

* photo

* Flight ticket

* Proof of living address. I used my bank statement.

* Copy of Directors Resolution stating I’m working remotely from abroad as per 2023 in which I myself have outlined: authorization, responsibilities, communication, compliance to local law, review and termination.

* Properly stamped with company stamp and signature (in Asia an “official” company ink stamp and signature hold a lot of value and authenticity, though legally it doesnt. A signature only on a company letterhead is not considered official in most asian countries

* Bank statement from Wise, the amount I’ve recently transferred just a month ago before DTV submission. Just to make sure it’s all on one bank account for their convenience.

* If you use wise bank, get the signed statement report from wise desktop. Via the mobile App is not available. It has a real stamp and signature

Additional documents requested after submission:

* Proof of Company business registration certificate

* All pages of my passport including empty ones. This was abit of tech hassle as they only allowed max 3MB upload since I have a business passport with double amount the pages than a regular Dutch passport

* First submision in July: they only requested the stamped pages in my passport, after I submitted , they requested all pages of my passport.

* Second submission in August; they requested all pages immediately (this may have to do with change of rules, my first time submission was merely 2 weeks after they announced DTV

* My passport shows proof : a lot of stamps and visas as I travel incredible a lot for work .. entry and exit stamps almost every month throughout Asia and Europe.

Note:

Each embassy in each country is different.

I could have applied in Singapore as I am working there, but they said I have to apply in person and bring copy printed papers when collecting and will take 3-4 weeks. Singapore will start using eVisa online by October 2024.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Dutch national shared their experience applying for a DTV visa online through the Dutch embassy in The Hague. The process requires you to be in the Netherlands at the time of submission and during processing. They detailed their first rejection due to being in Asia at the time of application and successfully got approved on the second try after providing the necessary documentation. Important documents included proof of company registration, passport pages, and a statement from their bank. Other comments discussed variations in document requirements by country, the ease of starting a company in Singapore, and personal experiences with the visa application process.

Don't abuse the system. If you're still in Thailand don't use the evisa system to apply.

How did they know you were still in Asia?

I am told all embassies and consulates are moving to online visa application only at the end of October, no more in person visits to embassies or consulates. Each country is very different, here in Canada just the BIO page of passport, no reason to ask for empty pages, that is silly. Also Canada is very expensive, $500 USD or $650 CAD for each DTV Visa, $1300 for my wife and I CAD, or $1,000 USD, not cheap, but great Thai consulate to deal with, very freindly and very efficient and fast, we had our DTV Visa within 2 days, they even called me to change my catagory f rom remote worker to "Soft power activities", and I did not h ave to pay any extra fees, overall great experience, except for teh high cost herre in Canada

hardly silly to ask for the pages of your passport to see IF you're actually stamped OUT of thailand when you apply or are lying to use the system 😛

I never thought of it that way

Oh, all of them by end of October? That would mean even Taipei, Vientiane and Savannakhet, which have not yet announced when they will move, or even that they will move to the e-visa system. However, when I asked Taipei, they simply said that it's fine to apply through them in October, as they won't move yet, indicating that they will, eventually. This could be in November or sometime around then.

Was het makkelijk om in Singapore een bedrijf te starten? Kun je dan factureren in Euro's? En waar betaal je dan belasting?

Mooi! Did mine also via embassy in NL, went super smooth. Did not ask for flight or accomodation proof.

Only

1. Verification of remote work from employer.

2. KvK Chamber of Commerce registration of company. Which is easy to get online.

3. Verification I am in NL.

4. I added salary slip as extra.

I have applied and received quite a few times TV there so i guess they can check all that as well

in Canada at the consulate in Vancouver I was not asked for flight or accommodation proof, I did put the address of the condo. We are living at In Thailand, plus our flight information, but no proof was needed
