UPDATE: APPROVED!! The same day of payment! The application went from “ready to submit-awaiting paymentnt” when we woke up, to “paid” after he went and fixed their little mistake giving the rest of the 9k baht at 9am (see below), to APPROVED by 2pm😄
Highly recommend the Savannakhet consulate in Laos!!! Just make sure they dont get confused by how much money you owe them when you get to the consulate to pay😉
Anyone else apply in Savannakhet Laos? Submitted the application yesterday, this location requires you to apply online, then go to the consulate and pay the visa fees in person 10k baht.
Well today my husband who is applying as a spouse on my DTV visa (acquired in Teipei in November) went to pay with the 10k baht in hand. For some reason they only took 1k baht and handed him back the rest. Super odd right? Has this happened to anyone else?
Any ideas why they didn’t just take the 10k?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their positive experience applying for a spouse visa (DTV) at the Savannakhet consulate in Laos, which was approved on the same day of payment. They encountered a payment mishap where only part of the visa fee was accepted, but this was quickly resolved upon returning to clarify. Other users chimed in with comments about visa types, potential for issuing a tourist visa, and advice for dealing with payment issues at the consulate.
OMG Approved in 1 day!! Well technically 2 days since he submitted the application wednesday* but he just got the approval email the same day he paid! Is this a new record timing or something??😄😄
Update: he went back today and spoke to another person who acknowledged the lady yesterday was new and made a mistake. She apologized to him and they took the other 9k☺️ I guess since the amount owed doesn’t have commas she read the
We all know DTV is 10,000bht why didn't you question it when making the payment. Go back to the embassy and fix it. Why you asking here no one can help only the embassy
he tried to yesterday but the lady was rude and scooted him out of there to get the next in line-he went back today and spoke to someone else who explained she is new and made a mistake so all is good now they took the rest of the money
when I paid by cash at my location my visa status immediately changed to paid. most likely they messed up and your spouse needs to go pay again the correct way. with the QR code
True, I just don’t know why they would be rejecting him when the evisa was still in the “ready to submit-awaiting payment” phase when he went to pay, and still actually is. I could still edit the visa right now if I want it’s technically not submitted and hasn’t been reviewed. We think she made a mistake, as it was very busy and she scooted him thru the line like everyone else.
He’s gonna go back tomorrow morning to see what is up
Before, if you got refused for a non b or o, they would just issue you a tourist visa, I don't really know, just my guessing, either wait, or just keep trying to contact them
