What visa options are available for moving to Chiang Mai while working remotely?

Hi everyone I’m planning on moving to Chiang Mai, Thailand in July with my daughter for about a year. I own my own business in Houston, so I’ll still be working remotely while living there.

I’ve been researching visas and keep hearing about the DTV visa, but I don’t currently have the large amount sitting in my account that they require. However, I do have bank statements showing consistent monthly business income of $7k+.

What visa would you recommend for someone in my situation? Also, does anyone know of a reliable visa agent or agency that can help guide me through the process

I would strongly recommend going to You Tube and typing in Living in Thailand or moving to Thailand. Search those videos for a man named Cal. He  has many videos on this topic. You could leave him questions concerning your situation! You can’t get a retirement visa unless you are 55 or older. If you have a monthly income equal to 65,000 baht and can prove it then you can use that to stay. The other way is to have 800,000 baht available to place in a Thai bank.

What about your daughter's education? If you are going to put her in school then you can get a visa with her. However, international school is gping to be expensive.

DTV seems like, but they're quite serious about requirments, can't just pick and choose which requirements you want to do. Save up and/or borrow the funds required, and let them season the correct amount of time before you apply.

I suggest you save five of your $7,000 every month for the next few months in a personal bank account and then apply for the DTV once you've reached 17,000 USD. You do not need an agent to apply for this visa. There, you saved a thousand bucks already.
