I’m still confused about which visa fits my situation. Can’t work on the ED Visa and i don’t currently meet the financial requirements for the DTV. Is there a visa that allows me to work remotely and stay in thailand for at six months or a year? Without the $15,000 in the bank.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking a visa that allows for remote work in Thailand for six months to a year, but they do not meet the financial requirements for a DTV visa or are unable to work on an ED visa. Comments suggest options like a six-month multiple entry visa that requires leaving the country every two months, as well as the possibility of coming as a tourist. However, it is generally agreed that working on a tourist visa is not legal, and users emphasize understanding the risks involved with remote work in Thailand.

So basically you guys are saying since i don’t qualify for either Visa currently i could only come visit for 30-60 days with the visa upon arrival then move on to another country. I guess do this until i have the right funds to get the DTV visa or find another country with less rules.

If you're from the US you don't need a visa on arrival. You get a free 60 day entry stamp which you can extend a further 30 days at an immigration office

Just go as a tourist and make border runs

Just get a METV or ED. no one will care if you work remotely. Not a single case where anyone got into problems for REMOTE work. thausands are working like that all the time. very common

You guys are all party poopers that is raining on his parade. Let him get his METV and whatever "hobby" he does online is his business.

need to apply in your home country for METV

You can work remotely, with zero interaction with Thai business entities, customers, or people, just keep it to yourself.

There is no visa that fits your situation. You can come as a tourist but you can't work on a tourist visa

No not at all and none are legal alternatives

The only way to work in country is with a work permit, or with a DTV visa that allows you to work remotely
Sangam *******
You can apply for 6 months multiple entry visa. The odd part is you need to exit and re-enter in every two months.

@Sangam ******
with the METV, you get stamped in for 60 days, and can extend it by 30 days once, at the immigration office if you wish, then you need to exit and re-enter the country, and can do that for the 6 months validity of the visa, you can get between 8 and 9 months out of it.

@Sangam ******
But any employment is strictly prohibited, even remote working
