Hi all,
I applied for a DTV from Vietnam (I'm a U.S. citizen) via the HCMC consulate on August 29th.
I heard back yesterday on Sept 11th. They requested additional information:
1) Proof of permanent residence in the country where the application is submitted: Please provide a clearer, higher-quality copy of your passport in full, including all blank pages.
2) Other request documents: Please provide details of all accommodations where you have stayed during your current trip to Vietnam, along with the (1) hotel invoices and (2) temporary residence registration (NA17) or a residence confirmation from the nearest ward police office.
3) Financial evidences: (1) last-3-month bank statement(s) from any bank(s) with a minimum balance of 500,000 THB or equivalent; or (2) sponsorship letter(s): Provide the salary slips/income for the past 6 months, please highlight them in your transaction records, and provide your income tax last 2 years.
4) Other request documents: Please share your monthly living expenses and explain your plans in Thailand, including your intended activities, expected length of stay, and how you will support your daily living expenses.
5) Other request documents: Please provide a business registration document showing the company name, the name of the legal representative, and a company profile that includes details about its history, vision, mission, products, achievements, and a link to your company’s website.
6) Other request documents: Please provide more details about your work, including example of work (how you work with clients and other departments,…), your qualifications (Bachelor’s degree and related certificates), and supporting visa documents.
Here are my questions:
1) Just to confirm: I assume they just want me to take a photo of every single page in my passport?
2) I work as a freelancer, mostly with friends and referrals. I closed my LLC about five years ago. Currently, I do not have an official US business registration.
Is it a good idea to register for an LLC ASAP and then use that as business proof? I think it may only take a few days to process, but I'm not sure if they’ll care how long it’s been valid for.
3) I do not have a company website since all my work has come through referrals. Do you think it’s worthwhile to create one just to show them? I have a Substack account, but it's not a 'real website'.
Assuming this is a yes, I'm open to resources on vibe coding or how to build a simple website.
4) Does timing for this matter? I've heard anything up to 7 days is fine. Should I rush to get it all in ASAP or is it okay to take 3-4 days to get it all ready?
Thanks so much!
