Looking for recommendations on which embassy to use. About me currently an offshore / remote worker, have the funds, 3 months without dropping below 500k, Have invoices, contracts for each individual projects I've been on world wide for last 12 months. Also have a letter from my employer explaining my job roles and responsibilities to travel for my salary will not work in Thailand just to spend my time off

Currently in Ireland. London is my closest embassy but not hearing good things about there.

Any advice greatly appreciated
Answer summary
An offshore/remote worker currently based in Ireland seeks recommendations for which embassy to use for a visa to Thailand. They have sufficient funds and necessary documentation to support their application. The London embassy is the closest but receives mixed reviews. Community members provide insights on how to structure the visa application, emphasizing the importance of presenting oneself as a remote worker and suggesting the potential of applying under a 'soft power' option to enhance approval chances.

how long do you have off work at a time ? if its under 30 days dont bother with a dtv if longer , sign up to a course , cooking, Muay thai

Whatever you do don’t write “to spend my time off in Thailand” - that’s not what the DTV is for!

Either structure your application as a “remote worker” saying that part of your role includes working online and you physically visit sites worldwide etc

Or

Get some sort of soft power activity lined up including medical treatment.

London is one of the best/easiest/quickest to deal with.

You can also apply via soft power. All DTV holders are allowed to work remotely.

Your problem will be your employer writing a letter stating that you can work remotely while in Thailand. In your situation it would be much better to go the softpower option, as you will not be approved under the workcation category.

Focus your DTV application on just working remotely from Thailand. What are you hearing about London?

I think there is a difference between working remotely from your home and being a remote worker. For the DTV purpose, it means you have permission to work remotely from within Thailand and your letter from your employer should say such. But in your situation, you wouldn’t be working remotely in Thailand but instead spending your off time in Thailand.
