My Dutch boyfriend wants to visit Thailand around mid-October and apply for a 3 month multiple-entry visa. Do we need a paid 2–3 month flight ticket or can we use an on-hold booking? 🙏
Answer summary
The user seeks clarification about the flight ticket requirements for their Dutch boyfriend, who intends to apply for a tourist visa to Thailand. Most comments indicate that a confirmed flight ticket is necessary, specifically suggesting that he should provide a ticket showing a return or onward journey within 60 days. While there is a discussion about the validity and types of tourist visas available, it seems the consensus leans towards needing a genuine ticket for visa application, although some suggest that an on-hold booking might suffice.

If you want METV its ticket into Thailand from your home country , ticket out of Thailand within 60 days and ticket back in.
David Gonzalez I have been asked Google and even called the thai immigration about visa exemption. But isn't answer what I looking for. If you dont want to help or answer my question. Better to just skip my post. Thanks!
Hoi Gabriel Calvo Cabron, he is planning to come to Thailand for 3 months this time. And we are confused about flight ticket to show to the embassy that should it be 2-3 months pre-paid or just on hold is ok.
We couldn't reach out to the Thai Embassy in Hague by phone call.
Jeeranda Chutinthorn since he is admitted for 60 days, an onward ticket for 60 days is what is usually required, it can be a train or bus ticket from what I read or a refundable air ticket. Not sure why he would need a multi entry if only staying for 90 days. A single entry is good for 60 days, then a 30 day extension for ฿1,900 at the local immigration office. But he should have a return or onward ticket for 60 days as that is what he will be admitted for when he arrives.
Michael Hoevel the cash requirement is a legacy rule from the visa exempt entry. i was asked when I had an METV but they were fine with my bank balance displayed on my phone.
