TLDR : Answer Summary
To ensure you have enough time to cross the border and submit your non-B visa application at the Thai consulate in Savannakhet, it is recommended to arrive at the border by 8 AM, as the consulate stops taking applications at 11 AM. The border opens at 6 AM, and it typically takes about an hour to cross and complete immigration procedures. Additionally, consider that the first bus to the border leaves at 6:30 AM.

they open at 6AM I believe. There's no rush, the border crossing is just 4km from the thai consulate in Savannakhet. They stop taking applications at 11:00.

Joseph Michael Pedro III He told me they wouldn’t process it without it. But they would accept a copy sent to me by email. It will take the school a couple days to get it ready, so I’m stuck here in the meantime.

Ajarn Andy Robinson it’s possible, but if the MOE doesn’t require it, why do they? Seems like such a waste, but then again, it is Thailand. Nothing truly makes sense here. It’s completely up to interpretation.

Well, they screwed me!

I’m here waiting for some obscure document that they requested from my school which isn’t even a requirement from the MOE as my school called them. All of the other teachers didn’t have it and had no problem in Vientiane. I wouldn’t recommend here for a non-b visa. Such a waste of time as I wait for the school to process and send it here.
