Dear TVA fam, I'll be going to Vientiane Soon to get my non b but i have a question that seems to get different responses. Its regarding the friendship bridge thai-laos border. I assume the border is open most of the time but does immigration stay there all the time? I'm asking because my flight arrives at udon thank at 9 pm and I need 1 hour to get to the border so I'll be there at basically 10 pm ish. Will they allow me stamp me out and allow me entry at the Laos side bare in mind I need to get the visa on arrival so that's why I was wondering when does immigration stop working at the land border.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge, which serves as the border between Thailand and Laos, typically operates immigration services from 6 AM to 10 PM. Given the flight arrival time at Udon Thani at 9 PM, it is unlikely that a traveler would reach the border in time to complete the immigration process that night. It is advisable to spend the night in Udon Thani and cross the border early the next morning when immigration opens.

The border is open 6am to 10pm

You should spend the night in udon thani then cross over early the following morning if it hasnt changed immigration opens at 8 am
Liam *****
The border opens at 6am, but the re-entry permit office opens at 8. That's the source of the confusion!

@Mary *******
they open at 6am

If your flight lands at 9 it's highly unlikely you'll make it to the border by 10, which is when it closes.
