Hi all, did anyone go for visa to Savannakhet from Ubon Rachathani? Is it easy to find bus to there? And if so, how many hours it will take?

I wanted to save time so I booked flight BKK-Ubon and Ubon-Bkk, but now I'm not sure I can get to the airport on time. If I collect visa at 2pm, can I get to Ubon by 6pm? My flight is at 7pm

Or maybe it's possible to ask/pay more for collecting visa earlier?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers on traveling from Ubon Rachathani to Savannakhet to collect a visa. Travelers confirm that buses are readily available from Ubon to the border. However, the travel time can be uncertain, and there may not be enough time to collect the visa at 2 PM and catch a flight at 7 PM. It is also noted that there is no option to expedite the visa collection process.

It's 185km including a border. Maybe if you get a taxi the whole way but even that be pushing it. Bus, no chance.

Depends mostly on the speed of the bus.

Yes:

1. It's easy to find a bus. From Ubon Rachathani, just go to the bus station and get a bus to Mukdahon, Thailand (it's on the border).

2. You can get a fly-and-ride service from DMK to Mukdahon and back using Nok Air. Check into that.

3. You can't pay more money to collect your visa eariler, it's first come, first serve.
