Dear Beautiful people,

Basically, My aunt who was a naturalized U.S.citizen died while visiting her husband who is still living in Thailand. The family of my aunt in America needs help in obtaining death certificate from police. Do I need to go to immigration or police station? Any suggestion?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a death certificate for a U.S. citizen who passed away in Thailand, you need to contact the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok. They provide a "Consular Report of Death" which is essential for legal procedures. It is important to gather information from the U.S. Embassy website for detailed instructions. It is not necessary to visit the immigration office or police station directly for this process.

and while I sympathize and am sorry for your loss. Unfortunately it's NOT thai visa related BUT at least you have the links to point you in the right direction.

Good Luck, once again condolences.

Yes, you need to contact the US Embassy and they will tell you everything you need to do and guide you through the process. The British Embassy helped us last year when a friend died, the US Embassy will be the same

They will need a "Consular Report of US Citizen Abroad". Check US Embassy Bangkok website for details.
