Hello, I would like to ask for some advice.

I arrived in Indonesia on the November 27th. I applied for the DTV visa on December 1. On December 12, the Embassy requested additional documents. On December 18, I received an interview email, and I attended the interview on December 19.My Current status is Pending Approval after attend the Interview.

My current visa will expire on the 26th Dec, so I am feeling very unsure about what to do next. I am wondering whether I should email the Embassy to inform them that my visa will expire on the 26th and politely request an update on the result.

Since December 25 is Christmas and a public holiday, I am also unsure whether any emails will be received or replied to.

If it is appropriate to contact the Embassy, I would like to know which email address I should send my message to. I would also like to ask whether it is possible to extend my visa here in Indonesia.

Thank you very much.

And what was the answer to your question during the interview about issue of the visa before you had to leave the country?

I hope you brought your passport and talked about it.

You can quietly leave Indonesia, but don't go to Thailand.

Better not to email them but just go to a nearby country while waiting till approved then fly back to Thailand. Your plan to Malaysia is correct

I don’t understand. You can’t leave the country where you have applied.

Because in this case, immigration compliance in the host country takes legal precedence over any third-country visa application. Once lawful stay expires, the applicant no longer has a valid basis to remain in the country or to continue a visa application from that jurisdiction.

Therefore, taking a neutral and compliant position in this situation, PO must depart before the Indonesian permit expires, while also refraining from entering Thailand in order to comply with the DTV requirement that applications be submitted from outside Thailand.

Going to waiting for the pending approval in the third country and not coming back Indonesia if visa is expired date, is it right ?

In a general, the best would be re-enter Indonesia without an issue then try go back when possible, or apply a VOA to enter again.

In PO’s case, time is extremely compounded, his/her visa result might be released soon or even before the back and forth.

You’ll need to clarify based the fact to embassy when they ask for it.

What’s your situation exactly? If there are more than 2 valid working days in host country when your visa is processing then you should wait till last day.

If you can extend IND visa then prioritise extension.

I found out that if u came to Indonesia with a visa on arrival, it is non-extendable. But if you came here with a visitor via (Type B1), u can extend 30 days. But the last date you can do is Friday so I m not sure.
