⌛Running Out of Time: Can I Exit & Re-enter While DTV Is Processing?
Hi everyone, ✨
I’m a Malaysian currently in Indonesia on the 30-day visa-free entry (there is no way to extend this while I'm in Indonesia) and my DTV application is already submitted and in process. My first one was rejected so this is my second attempt. However I'm running out of time.
My stay expires soon, 12th Nov, so I’m planning to leave Indonesia and re-enter on the same day.
❓ My question:
If I exit and return to Indonesia while my DTV application is still being processed,
👉 Will my application remain valid, or will it be voided?
Has anyone done this successfully or received official clarification?
Thank u so much 🙏💕
Any insights or experience would be appreciated!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is unsure if exiting and re-entering Indonesia while their DTV visa application is processing will void their application. The community discusses risks involved, mentioning that exiting may lead to automatic voiding of the application, especially since this is a second attempt after a rejection. Several users suggest checking with the embassy for clarification and express caution about the potential consequences of leaving the country during the application process.
It’s not allowed to leave Indonesia after applying for the DTV there. If they find out they will void your application.
Best thing is to contact the embassy whatever way you can, by phone, in person, email, Facebook messenger, to check the status and to ask if you can get a response before.
If you get to 12th and haven’t heard from them and you don’t want to risk a visa overstay (and have to leave).
Then before you travel, take a photo of every page of your passport (including blank pages) in case they ask. They do this to prove you haven’t left the country. But ultimately it’s not an ideal solution, as they will then expect you’ve overstayed your visa. And they sometimes ask for date stamps on photos too
It is voided. Some have had their DTV rescinded on arrival for the breach of application. Some have got away with it but this is your 2nd application so not worth the risk. Email the embassy about the progress of your application.
