I applied for the DTV in Jakarta (Indonesia) on September 1st. Today (September 11th), I finally got a reply, but they are asking me to provide proof that I am currently in Indonesia.
Does anyone know what type of document works best to make sure it gets accepted? (visa, photo, something else?)
Also, my current visa expires the day after tomorrow and I will be going to Kuala Lumpur after that. Could this be an issue for my application?
Thanks a lot for your help 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeking advice on their DTV visa application in Indonesia requests recommendations for proof of their current presence in the country. Responses suggest various types of documents, including hotel bookings, receipts from recent purchases, and photos with identifiable landmarks and timestamps. Concerns are raised about the potential impact of leaving Indonesia before visa approval, as this could lead to application rejection.
i did sent hotel booking + VOA but wasn't enough so i had to act fast and take more selfi to prove I'm still in the country !! i think the passport with local news paper + selfi in front of my hotel was enough i also added the phone number of the hotel + my room number so the embassy can call the hotel and inquire about me the next day i was approved
Still in Indonesia. Just got rejected. My guess would be that since they looked at my application today (12 September) and I sent a hotel booking until the 11th they couldn’t confirm I would still be here…
Show them a current receipt for something you purchased today, preferably with your name on it. If it doesn't have your name take a selfie of you holding it with a recognisable landmark in the bank and make sure the date is visible. You need to stay in Indonesia until the visa is approved
I got the same request for proof that I am currently staying in Indonesia yesterday and sent a selfie with me holding a receipt + a hotel booking until 11 Sept. Now I am wondering if showing a hotel booking for the next days (e.g. next week) would have been better....
