What should I do if my Thai DTV visa approval is still pending close to my flight date?

Question

Hi everyone,

I applied for my DTV visa on April 1st via the official website in Hanoi, Vietnam, and my visa is still pending approval. My flight back is scheduled for Wednesday at the end of the day, and I’m getting worried about the timing because Monday its holidays in both countries 😢

Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Should I contact the embassy immediately to get an update, or is it normal to wait a little longer? I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations you might have.

Thank you very much!

Not that it helps, but I was approved in five business days in HCMC last week 😅

This month is a long holiday, and most embassies' staff may return home for Thai New Year. It is best to change your airline ticket. Just cross your fingers that it gets approved before 11 April 2025.

You didn’t leave very much time. Most reports say 2-4 weeks.

Awful planning. Why didn’t you applied for the visa, a few weeks ago 🤷‍♂️

Qub ***** · Answer

Buddy, reschedule your flight.

Give them 10 days at least.

It's a public holiday season now.

Im in Jakarta waiting since 28.3. and I don't expect anything until 7-8.4.

Attached photo is about Thai Immigration, but It may apply to other agencies too.

I just had mine in Hanoi few days ago after 4-5 working days so just wait a bit more and you should probably receive it in after the weekend now 😌🙏. I wish you the best !

Give it time , you could be getting lined up to attend an interview.

Patience is key.🔐

You need to juts chill out ✌️

Visa applications can sometimes take longer than expected 📝

If you miss your flight ✈️ juts book another one, they’re not too expensive 🚫 💵

Jai Yen 😉 🇹🇭

The entitlement is high with this one. You do realise that applying for a visa does not mean that you get it or get it before a certain day, right? A visa is a privilege and not a right omg.

FYI I applied on March 27 and mine is still pending approval too..

As you said, you applied on the 1st… Today is the 5th… We call it patience and you’ll need plenty of it if you want to survive in Thailand.
