I'm in bit of a tricky situation, I applied for a DTV Visa (Remote Worker) at the HCMC, Vietnam Embassy.
Now there was an additional document request and after that its been on "Pending Approval" since last monday.
Now problem is my vietnam visa expires on 5th November, now im hoping somehow miraculously it gets approved before my visa expires, but if not what is my best choice?
1) Overstay few days? And pay the fine
2) Fly back to another country and stay there
3) Do a visa run, go to laos and come back to vietnam with a new visa
Assume im not in vietnam, will my DTV visa get cancelled? (Or is that only if i enter thailand)
And yes i have tried emailing, messaging, calling the embassy regarding my situation few days ago but havent gotten a response yet.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing a situation where their DTV Visa application is pending approval, and their current Vietnamese visa will expire on November 5, 2025. They are considering options including overstaying, flying to another country, or doing a visa run. Community comments provide insights on visa processing times and suggest avoiding overstaying due to risks, with some advising to potentially leave Vietnam temporarily and return once the DTV Visa is approved.
The additional docs requirement is boiler plate ...semi auto ..no human likely saw it. The challange is getting it into human hands...not AI ....get on Grok and ask how to get in human hands....been dealing with same issue from home...you will be amazed with what u learn

Hcmc Thai consulate does approves visas 7 days a week. I believe you can get an extension online with your viet visa. I was in the same situation a couple months ago my visa was approved on a Sunday night.
Don’t overstay. That’s unnecessarily risky. I don’t think you’d have issues leaving to another country and returning, or flying into Thailand via another country because from what I understand the approval is completely electronic at this point. I don’t know for sure though as I had done mine in person.
If I was in your situation, I will take opt 2. However, be prepared to demonstrate you extended your stay in Viet by having another hotel booking, just in case.
I would imagine you will more than likely be approved before the 5th, a lot of people report getting approved in two days of additional documents request assuming everything is good. If you don't just do the border hop.
