How do I calculate the processing days for a Thai DTV visa application submitted in Cambodia?

Hi. I submitted dtv application in Cambodia on April 27. Additional document request came on April 28, which I submitted to their request on the same day. Does that mean Day 1 is April 29?

Also, I checked the holiday schedule on the Phnom Penh Thai Embassy website and found only 3 holidays during this time - May 5, 12, and 14.

So if I'm counting the days correctly, it means Day 11 was May 16. And today (May 19) is Day 12. So should I still hear something today? I'm just wondering if I still need extend my hotel further.

Am I counting the days correctly? And is it still 11 working days for Cambodia? Anyone else in the same boat? Or have any insight? Much appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on calculating the processing days for a DTV visa application submitted at the Thai Embassy in Cambodia. They submitted their application on April 27, followed by additional document submissions on April 28, and are trying to determine if Day 1 of processing is April 29. They note holidays on May 5, 12, and 14 and calculate Day 11 as May 16, today being Day 12. However, responses from others indicate varying experiences with processing times, suggesting potential delays due to local practices, and shared advice about managing visa expiration.

Hey Joe, I am having exactly the same situation as you. Dates are the same. The agency said ''Given your visa expiry on the 25th, what we usually recommend in cases like this is to re-enter Thailand using a visa exemption, which is a valid reason for leaving the country. Once your DTV is approved, you can either wait inside the country until your visa exemption is over or exit and re-enter again using the DTV visa.'' Important part is ''if you plan to leave, we would recommend you to take a picture of all pages of your passport.'' I hope it helps

Bahadır Çelik Thank you so much. Very helpful info. Hope it doesn't come to that. Still a couple days left in the week for something to happen.

Hi, I also applied on 22 April in Cambodia and am still waiting for the result. I think you might need to wait one more week. I've seen in other DTV groups, many applicants are currently stuck in 'pending approval' status.

Cambodia is a communist country. Life is completely different from our western performance driven societies. Life just flows along. In my experience, many employees in Thai consulates outside of Thailand are locals. So it's possible that they worked a little slower before the holidays and had a bit of a backlog to work through after the holidays, or maybe they took a bridge day, and none of that is that important in Cambodia. Just try to adapt to the pace of life there. Enjoy your time and try to book the hotel day by day

Cambodia is a Communist country? Where did you get that nonsense from? As for local hire in Consular sections that is the case everywhere for every embassy for every country. There are very good reasons for this ie language, local knowledge and costs.
