hey guys. I submitted my application in Ho Chi Minh City, on April 17th. And On April 18th, the status changed to ‘pending approval’, and there has been no progress since then. It has now been more than 10 workdays. Is anyone else experiencing the same situation? What should I do? Should I contact the embassy?

Answer summary

A user has reported that their visa application submitted in Ho Chi Minh City remains stuck on 'pending approval' for over 10 workdays. Other commenters have shared similar experiences, with some suggesting that the status updates may not accurately reflect the processing time. One user mentioned that embassies may prioritize processing based on the departure date if provided. The conversation raises questions about whether to contact the embassy for updates.

I applied on April 22 in HCMC and my status changed to pending approval later that day. It’s has been ‘pending approval’ since April 23 and no progress. I listed May 17 as my arrival date in Thailand.

You cant put any trust in those "status" messages, they can chance both ways and give you no clou whatsoever about how long your application is in the proces.

Read the Embassy website for the average processing time.

Have you entered any departure date, then some Embassies would proces by the departure date rather than the application date, and the visa will come in the last days before departure.
