What should I do if my employer is not based in the UK for the Thailand 6 month multiple entry visa application?

On the list of requirements for 6 month multiple entry visa it asks for a letter from the applicant's employer based in the UK (I'm British). What if we are unemployed or employed by a company not based in our home country?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry addresses the challenge of obtaining a letter from a UK-based employer for those applying for a 6 month multiple entry visa to Thailand, particularly if they are unemployed or work for a non-UK employer. Responses suggest contacting the consulate for clarification, as guidelines may vary. It's also noted that some consulates may not enforce stringent employment verification, and specifics regarding alternate documentation for self-employed individuals or overseas employers remain uncertain.

and I think unless you contact the consulate directly and get an answer from them all you're doing is spinning your wheels on here.

No one is gonna be able to provide a good answer.

Contact the consulate and see what they say.

I think your question has been misunderstood. I have the same issue. Has anyone had success obtaining METV with an overseas employer?

most consulates don't have the stringent requirements as far as employment records..

And when you do arrive...do as Robert Lagas noted in reply to your recent post:

"No, you better prepare yourself with 20.000 Thb or equivalent currency in cash, proof of onward travel within these 30 days and proof of accommodation. Best is to also have proof of income from abroad to avoid the suspicion of working in Thailand. The Visa Exempt Entry stamp is not meant to live inside Thailand. Get a visa for your purpose of stay."

Frankly I believe you need to get a job in Thailand that will provide you with a legal work permit. Its clear from your posted comments recently that you are living in Thailand on back to back entries...tourist visas, border runs with extensions. Good luck...and I am sure you are aware that the decision upon your arrival with visa or not is up to the Thai Immigration Officer.

If employed, simply get a letter of employment. If employed in Thailand get a work permit to reside in Thailand legally.

Charly King yes ..I read that too. And if self employed you have to have Company Registration documents too.

With those requirements I am doubtful the UK will issue you a multiple entry METV for six months. You may call and ask.
