Hi, I'm applying for a multi entry tourist visa in the U.K. I read that you need proof from an employer or from HMRC and a company registration document if you are self employed. I'm a sole trader and therefore don't have company registration documents as not VAT registered. I've contacted HMRC and all they will give me is proof of my tax calculation. I've tried to contact the Thai embassy in London for advice but was just redirected back to the website where my question isn't answered. Has anyone else been in this situation and has a tax calculation sufficed? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for a multi-entry tourist visa (METV) to Thailand from the UK as a sole trader without company registration documents. They mention that HMRC only provides a tax calculation and are unsure if this suffices for the visa application. Other users share their experiences, noting that a tax return copy was accepted in similar situations, and emphasize the importance of contacting the Thai embassy for proper guidance.
I've recently got an METV in the UK as a self employed person. I used a copy of my last tax return. I also have a LTD company so was able to supply the company registration doc (certificate of incorporation). If you're not a LTD co you won't need this. I got mine from Hull. They were excellent. I emailed them all my docs beforehand, they checked them and confirmed they had everything, and then I just went up and paid for the visa. Was only in there for 20 mins.
All you need is a copy of the SA100 that you submitted (my accountant does mine but sends me a copy each year to sign saying I'm happy for it to be submitted).
I'd write a letter on your "company letter head" stating you want to get a METV to thailand, enclose EVERY THING else they ask for as far as the criteria, plus the money order for the METV and a post paid return addressed envelope .
If they won't issue it they'll post it back to you.
They totally SUCK at answering emails, and they're some of the rudest people at a thai consulate that I've ever talked to (and I've talked to a LOT of them) :/
