What should I do if I receive someone else's document during my 90 Day report at Thai immigration?

Last Monday I went to do the 90 Day report at the Jomtien / Pattaya immigration office. Even though it was very crowded as it was the first day after the long weekend the process was quite smooth and fast.

BUT: When I checked my passport and the 90 report slip clipped into it I saw that it was not mine, but the one of an Indian guy. It was not easy to get back into the building without queuing again and to find an officer who was willing to correct their error. After looking into the case, an officer first told me I didn’t do the TM30 report. Of course I had done it and I showed him the slip in the passport. Finally he found me in their computer system and printed out a new and correct 90 day slip.

Now some Indian guy might get into trouble with my 90 day report slip in his passport...

Always check carefully after doing your reports!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience at the Jomtien/Pattaya immigration office while doing a 90 Day report and received the wrong report slip after noticing it was for someone else. This led to a series of comments highlighting the importance of checking documents upon receipt. Users advised always verifying that all paperwork, particularly passports and immigration documents, are correct before leaving the immigration desk to avoid complications. Mistakes can cause issues, and it's the responsibility of the individual to ensure their documents are accurate.

I'm going to close comments:

Your passport is YOUR document. It's your responsibility to make sure whatever is stamped or placed in your passport is correct by the Thai immigration office. If the Thai immigration office accidently stamps something that's in your favor, it's your responsibility to get it fixed. Fixing mistakes in passports caused by immigration office errors are free.

Always check your passport whenever you cross through immigration OR do anything at the local immigration office, and if it isn't right, turn around and get it fixed. Good luck

Same happened to me in Chiang Mai 3 days ago. Luckily caught it and had it fixed immediately.

Exactly the same thing happened to me in Muang Thon Thani.

Luckily I checked the paper whilst in the car outside the building. Went straight back in and to the officer who dealt with my report. He was very apologetic. No sign of the guy who’s form I had been given.

Check it BEFORE you leave the desk!

In Jomtien we had to wait outside of the building. Every now and then a lady came with a little plastic basket full with passports and shouted the numbers of the tickets the applicants had received when handing over their documents.

I just had to pay a 2,000 baht fine because I didn’t have the slip (never given to me at Chaeng Watthana) and the IO insisted that my report was due 60 days earlier than I had been told. Lesson is: make sure you get the slip!
