An American family of 6 renewed their passports here recently and then transferred their visas to the new passports in BKK. Somewhere in the process, one of their kids' TM6 paper was lost. They are leaving for the States in May. What needs to be done to replace the TM6? Just wait until they get to the airport? He has the TM6 number because it was on one of their previous 90-day check in forms.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An American family of 6 is looking for advice on what to do about a lost TM6 departure card for one of their children before their flight back to the United States in May. They have received mixed advice on whether to file a police report and visit immigration for a replacement card, or if they can simply show up at the airport without one. Several comments suggest that for most instances, they can leave the country without issues at the airport, as many travelers have experienced losing their TM6 cards.

Some Imm Offices such as Krabi are very lenient if a TM.6 card is lost. They just issue a new one on the spot without complaint or needing a police report.

The only reason you'd go get a police report and trudge out to immigrations to get a new TM6 departure card would be because you're needing to DO something at the immigration office (90 day report, another extension etc)

If you're not, they can just show up in May at the airport and they won't have any problem stamping out.

Believe me they're not the first foreigner here whose lost a TM6 card.

They can file a police report, and then go to immigration and request a new departure card.
