Please help! It took me an entire night to get Thai embassy portal to work between password n captcha n the go in a loop. The next day they advised that two of my papers require additional information n today I tried to upload n went in loop again n I sent by email to embassy in Ottawa n they refused to take it. I will lose 16457 baht n not get my visa. What can I do? Is it common these misadventures?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is experiencing persistent difficulties with the Thai embassy online portal, specifically regarding captcha verification and uploading documents, leading to fears of losing their visa application fee. Community members suggest troubleshooting tips such as using different web browsers, clearing cache, avoiding autofill features, and resizing the screen to better view captchas. They also advise on the importance of keeping records of successful browser use for future applications.

The verification code is case sensitive, bro

Change browser and if you have problems reading the captcha enlarge the screen. That usually helps.

Be aware that most official websites in Thailand are very basic. To be fair, I have similar issues with tech companies' websites where you'd expect they'd have the money and know-how to design & build robust interfaces...

A rule of thumb is to open the browser in private or incognito mode (empty cache and cookies) - it sometimes helps to restart the computer because some browsers keep the private data even if you close the window 😮

And to try a variety of browsers because most "official" (i.e. government, bank, insurance or online shop) developers in Thailand implement the website on their favorite browser and seldom (if ever) bother to make allowances for different browser standards or run tests on different browsers and platforms.

Sometimes the app browsers (Chrome on Android and Safari/Chrome on IOS) are also good contenders for these amateurish websites.

You're not going to change anything by whinging. You have to come up with a workaround solution for each case. Once you are successful with a particular website, keep a note of which browser & platform/device you used, for the next time!

Take a screenshot of the captcha and upload to ChatGPT, it gets it right every time

I often had similar issues on various Thai Govt portals until I changed browser to Google Chrome. Before i used Safari. I almost drove mad…

Don‘t forget to clear cache.

Just change the captcha until you can read one clearly. Google chrome usually works but not explorer. Do not use autofill anywhere. Make sure files you are uploading are not too large. Scroll down a page even if you think you are at tge bottom as there might well be something else there to click on. That us my experience of thai immigration web sites.

Thank you for your advice but I believe at that price it is a bit dodgy. I use microsoft edge

I've had issues with edge too. The looping issue. It's worth trying chrome as it has worked for me but recently I have been using firefox successfully

Maybe I should use chrome on one of my 5 computers. When I do not work I go to school and use microsoft. Soon I need to toss out all these computers to pack my suitcase n empty the place to travel.

The captcha has been problematic

Try a different browser, clear cache, use incognito mode.
