Hi everyone! Has anyone here successfully extended their DTV while staying in Thailand, without leaving the country?

If so, could you please share what documents you needed to provide? Did Immigration ask a lot of questions or request any additional documents?

I’m especially interested in recent experiences in Bangkok. Any advice or information about the process would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

Thank you! ❤️
Summary so far
The post seeks advice on extending a DTV visa while remaining in Thailand, specifically asking for documentation needed and whether the immigration office asks many questions. Several comments suggest that extending the DTV without leaving might be difficult, with recommendations to leave the country instead. Others mention the need for a Thai bank account and the requirement to show 500k baht for the extension, although some updates indicate that foreign bank accounts might now be accepted.

my understanding this was an old rule and they are now accepting foreign banks with the rule the 500k equivalent must be there for 30 days.

When i went to immigration to try and extend my dtv, one of the necessary requirements they said i had to have a Thai bank account, which i did not have and i've heard is nearly impossible to get on a dtv. Border runs every 6 months are the only option to extend another 6 months i believe.

I think this was an early issue with some offices such as Chiang Mai but they don't need a Thai bank account any more. Many offices seem to have standardised on wanting 500k equivalent in a bank account for 30 days but it can be foreign. They may also want a bank letter confirming ownership, or a balance letter (something separate from the statement) but this is something many banks will issue.

You need the same documents like when you applied for the visa including the 500k in your bank account
