Answer summary
If you arrive in Thailand without completing the TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card), you can fill it out upon arrival at designated kiosks at the airport. It's advisable to do this before going to immigration to avoid delays. The departure date is not mandatory; many users noted that it's often left blank without issues. The TDAC can only be completed starting 72 hours before your intended arrival date, so ensure you're within that timeframe. If you face technical difficulties while filling it out, using the calendar tool is recommended to avoid format errors.

It’s so easy I done with in 2 mins and get email right away
I forgot about doing mine and managed to do it before reaching the front of the queue. I saw others being sent to the side to complete before re-joining the line.
Close all the tabs on your phone and delete your browser history, start the application again. This happened to me for days and this was the only thing that worked..
I did not have any issues. What the system did do was Grey out my resident location on arrival and I was able to enter where I would stay. That caused a small issue at imagration
When you come up the ramp, on the far left of it there is a section taped off that you follow and then you sit behind screens with someone to help you fill it out, I went in December and lots of Brits didn't have it filled out as weren't aware of it so I saw them come out the que and go over to the left side,
Select the date from the calendar dropdown icon. Because you are typing it in the format is being registered in the box as text rather than a date selection its a bug in their code. It should have a placeholder message saying click calendar icon to select date and a restriction measure to stop you selecting the box to type in it
Yes it is not the best of forms. Clear the date until the format statement is displayed. You can not submit the form or include a date that is more than 3 days before your intended flight/arrival/ Much depends on your time zone. Try again.
I was just there and there was no one to help but should you complete it customs will have it once you scan your passport. But there was no one there to help.
Hey guys I have a question. I will be in thailand with my wife for 3 weeks but we planning to stay in Bangkok for 4 days then Krabi and pattaya. Do I need to show booking for hotel for all these places or just for Bangkok will be fine. Thank you.
Prince Vik Hi, Yes, only the first hotel you'll be staying at. I only put the details of the first hotel i stayed at as I then moved around other places.. you'll be fine!
Been out 3 times since they introduced this TDAC, on 2 occasions they didnt ask to see it and 3rd time I asked if they wanted to ? " No, it's in the system, was the reply.
Simm Sima . . NOTE: The "Visa Number" and "Departure" from Thailand are NOT mandatory required fields- you can leave them blank.
BUT: As soon as you click on one of these fields not marked with a red *asterisk or start typing, an error message will appear if you don't fill out anything else. Then you would have to cancel everything and start over.
For every entry into Thailand, non-Thai citizens are required to have completed the TDAC, regardless of whether they have a visa or an existing stay permit.
The TDAC is not a visa. The electronic TDAC is just replacing the former TM6 arrival & departure paper card you used to fill out aboard your flight before you entered Thailand.
You can fill out and submit the TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) starting three days/72 hours before your planned entry; it only takes five minutes on your home computer, it takes a little bit longer on the smartphone
It's important not to fall for fraudulent websites that charge a fee for the TDAC—they're all scammers. The official TDAC is free of charge. The correct ending of the link has to be “go” and “th”
Open the official website and simply fill it out pro forma.
Create a note or a Word .doc document on your computer with the requested information, e.g., passport number, name and address in your home country, primary address in Thailand, and so on.
Then, starting up from three days/72 hours before your planned entry, you can copy and paste the information into the TDAC—it only takes two minutes!
The TDAC confirmation will reach your email inbox shortly after you have submitted the form. You should print out this email confirmation, as it contains a QR-code. Mainly expats who apply every year for their annual “extension of stay permit”, should print it out, because a printed and signed copy of the TDAC could be a part of the document submission on Immigration
If you don't have to present the printed TDAC at the immigration counter, it doesn't mean anything - the border official will see the TDAC you submitted on his/her computer screen as soon as they scan your passport, so they won't ask again
The TDAC is not a visa, it is only an information you give Thai authorities about your person, your arrival information and your place of stay.
Assuming you haven't completed a TDAC, they won't let you enter the country but will send you back to the terminals in front of the Immigration desks with a request to submit it.
Martyn James so if Immigration asked you for your onward travel, you are already on the top tier for being refused the next visa-exempt entry - feel warned. Immigration normally is not interested in your return flight or onward travel as long as your stamp history indicates that you are a "real" tourist
Justin Cox so you think that because they didn't ask him for it (because it's in the computer the officer is staring at) that he didn't need to do it? Pretty sound logic you got there.
That’s what I thought. Try to sound like a smartass, coming out looking like a dumbass. You could just, I don’t know…maybe not troll a conversation you have no intelligent or relevant input into, just because you’re lonely in Bangkok on a Saturday night!
Justin Cox you can keep waiting. Sorry, I didn't read every other comment to look for possible related content before I commented on the specific comment I did read.
Justin Cox You don't have to show the DTAC. When the IO scans your passport, the DTAC shows on screen. Only in extreme circumstances are you asked to show money. Usually, when they suspect you are not a genuine tourist
Thanks. Been here 2 years never needed one. I also thought you had to have a return flight or flight out. He had neither. One way ticket here. I didn’t think that was allowed.
Justin Cox TDAC started on May 1st last year. An onward ticket is formally required for tourist entries, regardless of whether you've been asked for it.
Justin Cox probably because it was already registered with his passport number when scanned. Funds are rarely asked for unless they start questioning your stays.
Never filled one out at all and only had a one way ticket into Thailand with no out or return flight booked. So unless they made one up for him, not possible. I was amazed and was sure he was going to get stopped. Nope. Not him nor the friend he brought.
They are ill informed, should ask to speak to supervisor, I’ve flown in at least 6 times and only filled in the form whilst on the flight, can also fill them in on arrival before immigration
Pui Suu but hang on a minute it asks you for a flight number and in the visa application process you didn’t need a return flight 1 way was suffice so I don’t have a departure flight number to go with that departing Thailand date
Simm Sima you can leave it blank however I'm not sure without some form of visa they will allow you to arrive on a 1 way flight if you are only on a holiday but I'm sure someone will tell me I'm completely wrong
Simm Sima the departure fields are optional on the TDAC. Just leave the information blank. And to be clear, the TDAC is not a visa. It is simply a paperless version of an informational landing card like many countries used to require passengers to fill out on planes before entry.
Pui Suu brooooooooooooooooooooo u just saved my ass I was on different devices I was trying on chrome Safari Firefox all same result and here u are dropping the gem that would have prevented my brain from exploding. Thank you
