TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder with a DTV returning to Thailand using a new passport should take their old passport (if available) along with the new passport and a printed copy of the DTV approval letter. Immigration officials can access the DTV records in their computer system, so bringing the old passport can help clarify any questions that may arise.
The stamp is not your visa. It’s just an entry stamp for 180 day stay.
If you still have your old passport, have it to hand just in case the IO asked any questions. Your details including old passport number, entry and exit details are all in their computer system, so they know all your history in Thailand anyway
Nothing- they will have record of your existing DTV - but bring with you your DTV approval letter again - however they will have record of your last entry with DTV when you show up - you can bring old passport as well and approval letter just to make sure if you are worried
If you kept your old passport hand them both in together if you havnt got your old one I’m not sure what would happen maybe you still have the original confirmation on your phone
It may also be worth looking into if the DTV information can be transferred to your new passport, even with a fee. Currently, you’re beholden to ensure you don’t lose your old passport, which has your DTV information attached to it. To be fair and clear I have no clue if a transfer is possible, but I’m just saying it may be worth looking into.
