How can I register a new passport for my DTV visa while being outside Thailand?

Did anyone successfully register a new passport for the DTV visa?

I'm not in Thailand at the moment and I'll get a new passport soon but my approved visa application has the old passport number etc.

I applied online, so no sticker etc. in my passport.

Does anyone know what I need to do?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To register a new passport for your DTV visa while outside Thailand, you should make copies of the data page of your old passport (the one your DTV was issued under) and any relevant entry/exit stamps. When you arrive in Thailand, present these copies along with your new passport at immigration. They will acknowledge your DTV issued on the old passport and allow you to stay for the full duration indicated on the visa.

you make a copy of the data page and the last entry/exit stamp on the DTV of the old passport (the one the DTV was issued under)

Put it with the copy you already have of the PDF print out you got from the thai consulate (that IS your visa) and show those copies with the new passport when you stamp in.

They will note you got the DTV issued on an earlier passport and stamp you in for 180 days on the new one when you arrive.

That's it, you show those copies when you stamp in to thailand for the duration of the DTV
