Hello, regarding my non o visa application from the Thai consulate in Canberra Australia. They seem to want proof of a paid airline ticket. Does anyone know how I navigate that as it is dependant on my house sale settling on the date intended and also what if my visa is then not approved Do I have to buy a ticket and potentially loose the money?? Thankyou for any advice. Can't wait to come to Thailand again hopefully for a year at least this time.
Answer summary
The user is concerned about the requirement for proof of a paid airline ticket for their Non-O visa application at the Thai consulate in Canberra. They are worried about financial risks tied to the sale of their house and potential visa denial. Responses suggest that providing a flight number may be sufficient without needing proof of purchase, and some recommend exploring refundable tickets or online companies that handle onward tickets for visa applications.

I had a similar issue when I moved from the uk. Not sure about the rules for australia but I asked for a month between contracts and completion. That gave me enough time to book a flight and initial accommodation as well as the visa. Also the estate agent told me that if I moved before completion it could all be done online. I did have enough money in my bank account for the visa.

search for Onward Ticket There are companies that actually book and cancel tickets after 24 hours

Wait for your house to sell

You can buy a fully refundable ticket, and after you get your visa, refund it and buy a different ticket if you choose.

They'll also want proof of 800,000 baht or equivalent on the evisa, so i don't know how your going to have that if you can't pay for airline ticket until your house is sold not unless you already have a Thai bank account with money in it

As listed on the embassy website

Approvals take minimum 10 days but can take up to 4-6 weeks

By putting in a flight number and date , normally a Visa is granted just before your departure

You don't need proof. Just a flight number.

They dont ask for proof so use a date and a flight number you intend to use

Just enter a flight Number that you may or may not take

That is enough for a Non-O

Have they actually requested proof of a paid flight or are they just asking for intended flights? If the latter just look up flights that suit and supply these along with the relevant flight numbers
