My DTV has been pending approval for 15 days now, and my flight to Thailand is on may 15. If I don’t get approved until I’m in the country would all I have to do to update my status to the immigration office once I receive my visa?

Monday is a holiday; you may need to stay longer until your DTV visa is approved. When you enter Thailand, the Embassy will be notified. You could schedule the interview for the following day or request a photo and receipt from your current location.

According to the Facebook post, the person is waiting for a DTV visa and has yet to receive approval from the Embassy. Could you read? lol!

they rarely ask for interviews and they don’t notify the embassy when someone enters the country

When they enter Thailand, the immigration system will indicate that the applicant is awaiting approval (because you can't see their system). Immediately, the system will notify the embassy that the applicant has entered Thailand.

no, that’s completely false. They use a completely different database and local embassies are not informed when someone enters Thailand. You are talking nonsense

Did you make the system? If not, you do not know. Everything is linked to immigration, MFA (embassies) and other government departments.

the The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration department are separate entities and do not share a database. I know people working in both departments. You are just making up rubbish off the top

Of your head.

You need to leave the country anyways in order to reactivate. So just wait until you actually have it then print it and come back in on plane

"Days" isn't what matters. It's business days. Last Monday was a Thai holiday. Friday was a Thai holiday. This Monday is a Thai holiday. None of those count as business days, nor do weekends.

Extend your stay where you are or go on another holiday somewhere close. Flights are cheap around here anyways.

No. You would have the leave the country and return to activate the DTV

No, you cannot activate a visa inside Thailand. The only way to active a visa is to leave and return.
