On a 90 day non-o Imm visa for retirement. Currently live in Bangkok. Will be going ro Bangkok immigration on 26Feb to apply for the extension of stay. But am moving to hua hin on 1Mar.

The landlord in hua hin just asked me if i wanted them to do the TM30 for me(very helpful and proactive of them). But I will still be living in Bangkok when I go to immigration. Immigration will want or may ask for the current(Bangkok) TM30 right? And not a TM30 that won’t actually be accurate until 3 days later.

Thanks
Answer summary
The user is on a 90-day Non-O visa for retirement, currently residing in Bangkok but planning to move to Hua Hin. They are concerned about the TM30 registration that must correspond with their immigration application. Commenters advised that since the user has not yet moved, the TM30 for Bangkok is valid and they should apply for the extension at the Bangkok office. They cautioned against having a TM30 filed by the Hua Hin landlord prior to the user's extension, as it could complicate the process if they are not residing there yet. Additionally, it was noted that the user is not tied to a specific immigration office once they relocate, but should wait to process the TM30 after the extension has been granted in Bangkok to avoid issues.

Why would your new landlord submit a TM30 early?

They may ask for you rental contract, and if your renting from a foreigner you’ll need there ID signed copy there house book and possibly there tax ID number (TIN)

You haven't moved yet so your current TM30 is legit. If your new landlord files a TM30 in advance in Hua Hin, Bangkok immigration will reject your application because they don't have geographical jurisdiction.

You will need to use the immigration office where you are registered as living, ie dictated by your TM30

Only the bank account is tied to Bangkok not the extension of the O visa.

Only problem I can see with this scenario is that you are going to be tied to Bangkok for extensions etc. Ideally you need to go and do this at Hua Hin if that is where you are going to be living. The trip to do all this at Hua Hin will save a lot of hassle later.

Not true, you are not tied to an immigration office. I have moved provinces twice.

Stuart Chiverton yes, but where was your TM30 registered. In the new province? Then no problem. Problem only arises when you go to an IO when you do not have a TM30 for that office.

OP
Sebastian Barrow how forgiving would immigration e in hua hin if I showed up 2 days before visa expiration to apply for extension I wonder? 🙂

Stan Kamp if you have all your ducks in a row, no problem.

You are NOT tied to Bangkok for future extensions, I have moved provinces twice and had no problems extending my stay. Hua Hin will not allow you to extend early. Tell your landlord in Hua Hin to wait to do the TM30 until after you have successfully extended your stay in Bangkok or you will have problems.

It's his first extension and he said his money will not be seasoned in time. He can do it as soon as his money has been in the bank for 2 months yes.

Stuart Chiverton your immigration office is dictated by TM30. So if he gets one from Hua Hin, then that is the office he must attend.

Stuart Chiverton yes they will. I do my extensions around 30 days early!

OP
Sebastian Barrow totally agree but my bank account is not seasoned fully until 26feb. My co do lease expires 1March. I do t want to risk moving f to hua hin and getting extension of stay permit with only 3 days left on my visa. Cutting it razor thin close there.
