TLDR : Answer Summary
Starting May 1st, expats filling out the TDAC will notice that Thailand is no longer an option in the place of residence column. Community members suggest several approaches: 1) use your country of passport as the address, since non-permanent residents are not considered residents of Thailand; 2) put the address you were residing at before arriving in Thailand; or 3) you might end up not filling anything in if you are uncertain. Many emphasize that the form doesn’t apply to Thai citizens or permanent residents, and that the regulations may have a significant impact on those with non-immigrant visas.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
David **********
The form.is not for thai citizens or residents.
Lynnette *******
The address you were residing at prior to arriving? As it's an arrival card perhaps those arriving from their country of passport could use that? I have to fill one in and often struggle with on line forms. Is it best to use a laptop/pc?
Kenneth *******
@Lynnette ******
it's easy go on the tdac.immigration.go.th fill it in and print 🖨 u can do 7 days ahead . Just go on network and practice eazy
Henry *********
Put the place where you are residing at the time you are completing the form. It can't be in Thailand!
Allan **************
Well if you think you're a resident of Thailand jast don't do a TDAC and see how that goes for you.
Greg *****
Correct.. not under kingdom either
Greg *****
It’s also a compulsory field so you must put something
Bob **********
If you live here you do t have to do anything until you leave and return then fill it out 3 days before you return
Wayne *****
You don't put anything.
Henry *********
@Wayne ****
Not an option.
Manfred **********
Myawaddy?
Roberto *********
Country of passport would be the obvious choice. That's where your entry stamp is

I don't like to lie on an official government written form.

a person who lives somewhere permanently or on a long-term basis.

@Jozef ********
if you have a non-immigrant visa or extension from a non-immigrant visa then you're a guest of Thailand, you're not a resident.
Jozef *********
@Brandon ***********
I'm aware of that. I am questioning the website and the options they provide (or rather the omitted options). Not to mention the poor ambiguous grammar they've used.
Brandon ************
@Jozef ********
it's very possible that it's intentional that it's not on there, as you are not a resident of Thailand, and anyone that needs to fill out the form is not a resident of Thailand.
Jack ********
@Brandon ***********
I believe permanent residents need to fill out the form
Brandon ************
@Jack *******
PR Never had to do it before with the paper TM6, so they shouldn't have to do it this time either.
Jack ********
@Brandon ***********
yes it was required then as well. Every foreigner. And Thai people on exit from Thailand but looks like that isn’t required with the new protocol
Mike *******
@Jack *******
Yes, it says all non-Thais must complete the form. I have PR so my country of residence is Thailand, but as that might not an option on the form I guess I’ll put my passport issuing country.
Jack ********
@Jozef ********
how are you telling a lie if it’s not on the form? Stop trying to act important saying you live in Thailand
Bri *****
@Ja**
why are you such a horror of a human being?
Jozef *********
@Jack *******
you've missed the point completely. Australia is on the form!
Roberto *********
@Jozef ********
Leave it blank then
Jozef *********
@Roberto ********
Won't work, it's a mandatory question
Roberto *********
@Jozef ********
You seem to acting up. You put the passport that your visa is in. End of story. I've been living in Thailand for 15 years but like 99% of foreigners on a short term visitor's stamp

The outback "smart arse" again...
Roberto *********
@Michael ************
Seems outback people have greater intelligence than Germans! We don't struggle with simple online forms. There again,with your history I can understand it
Jack ********
@Roberto ********
agreed. Not exactly rocket science.
Brandon ************
It's possible they will add Thailand as an option, as they never validated the paper form and you could put Thailand there. But it's also possible they don't add it, as the only "residents" of Thailand are people with Permanent Residence. Everyone else is on a non-immigrant visa/extension and is considered a guest. At that point you would need to put another address, most easily would be one to match your passport. It's not like they can validate a foreign address.

@Brandon ***********
Is it true you can only fill the application three days before travel?
Graham ******
@Abey ********
yes, within 3 days

, will have to wait and see i guess as all my stuff lists here? Work Permit, Visa and everything else so I guess if Thailand isn't an option I will just add a fake one?
Brandon ************
@Ian *******
yes you would put your passport country and any address you want. Just use your last address or a family member

It's sad that the Australian Tax Office sees us as residents of Thailand 😡
Jim *******
Australian Pension Office told me, they can send my pension (when I qualify for it, at 67) wherever I live. Japan or Thailand.
Kenneth *******
@Jim ******
yes they can as long as you have lived in Australia as a resident for the last 10 years and have been in Australia for the last 5 years more then 6 months of the year prior to 67
Jim *******
@Kenneth ******
They did not even mention "have been in Australia for the last 5 years more then 6 months of the year prior to 67"
Rob ****
@Jozef ********
anything to get out of paying us our pension.
Brandon ************
@Jozef ********
"tax resident" and "resident" are different things in Thailand's eyes.
