TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a 60-day visa to Thailand, you're required to submit a document proving your current location. Acceptable documents include a plane ticket to Thailand, a utility bill, a driver's license, or any recent mail showing your address.

then I booked a hotel on Expedia as proof then just cancelled it, as I’m staying at a rented condo…
Just upload the invoice that you have for the flight, hotel, driving licence, passport photo and your passport and then it took roughly 6-7 working days to complete
I'm having the same issue. I'm flying from Paris to Thailand, but will be staying in Paris with my girlfriend's mother before the flight. So wtf am I supposed to upload here?
my gf is French, we live in Bulgaria, we're not going to be in The Netherlands at all... This whole system makes no sense for us. Trying to apply in Bucharest now, it's where Bulgarian residents are supposed to get it. We'll see I guess.
Plane ticket from your county to Thailand should suffice. But some recent piece of mail like a utility bill or something with your address should be fine also.
