TLDR : Answer Summary
To put a car in your name in Thailand, besides the blue book, you will generally need: a copy of your passport, your visa, a residency certificate, and various forms from the local Transport Department (LTO). You may also require a yellow book and a Power of Attorney if the current owner is not present. The exact documents can vary by office and province, so it's advisable to check with your local LTO for specific requirements.

Sounds like you know the current owner and the vehicle is already registered in your home province. Next step is to ask at your local LTO what documentation they require to transfer your name to blue book. My LTO obtain a certificate of residence from IO for me.

It depends on where the vehicle is registered.

If it is not in the same province that you wish to register in, it must first have a new number and be registered in your home province.

It requires a power of attorney and a transfer document from the previous owner, as well as a copy of the previous owner's ID or passport.

If you do not have a pink farang ID card, proof of residence is also required from you, as well as a copy of your passport.

You will then turn up to pick up a new number plate and inspect the vehicle, after which your name will be added as the new owner in the registration book.

Bring the previus owner together to DLT together with the vehicle, proof of residence from Immigration or if you have pink id card and pasport from you.

If previous owner not together, It requires a power of attorney and a transfer document from the previous owner, as well as a copy of the previous owner's ID or passport.
