Transfer Vehicle Ownership

What is the exact Residence Certificate from immigration for transferring a vehicle. In reading it’s not the TM30 but a specific form for vehicle transfer of ownership. (I don’t have a work permit so I’ll need this form instead)

Anyone?

Also. Recommendations for car insurance?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer vehicle ownership in Thailand, you need a Residence Certificate from immigration, which is not the TM30 but a specific document confirming your residence status. The TM30 serves to show your residence in a province and is necessary for the immigration office to issue the certificate. Additionally, recommendations for car insurance include companies like Direct Asia Insurance, known for their English-speaking services and competitive premiums, and Roojai Insurance, which offers online applications and comprehensive coverage options.

I use Roojai insurance. Can apply entirely online, with English version available. Lots of options available on cover, including drivers, use, approved garages, etc.

For vehicle insurance there is a separate policy for trucks. What’s the difference? More or less cost?

Have you made any claims? If so how was your experience?

You’ll need the TM30 filed (to show you’re residing in XYZ province in order for immigration in XYZ province to issue a certificate stating that you’re residing at ABC abode in XYZ province. It’s just a letter stating as such with your picture attached. It’s not specific for buying a car or motorcycle or opening a bank account, just stating where you live.

Ok great. Can this same form for opening bank accounts?
Stuart *********
@Gary ********
It’s the same form, but generally they’ll keep the original so you’ll need two of them. They won’t accept a photocopy.
Stuart *********
In Phuket you don’t need to double up on the copies to get two, you’ll just need two photos.

so my landlord has completed the TM30. So immigration will write a letter after seeing my TM30? Can I get this before I get the car?
Stuart *********
@Gary ********
yes. Different offices require different paperwork, but as an example in Phuket you need a copy of your passport, a copy of your latest entry / extension stamp and a photo and the TM30 filed for an address in Phuket.
