Hi All, I have a non-ed visa and a valid re-entry until december 12. But upon checking with the embassy here in PH, I need to obtain a certificate of re-entry from the embassy here. Sadly language programs are not yet being honored to return to Thailand even if I have a re-entry stamp on my passport. They said I need to be taking up bachelor degree in Thailand... Any ideas on what options do I have? Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to return to Thailand with a non-ED visa after discovering they need a Certificate of Entry (COE) and that their current visa, tied to a language program, does not qualify for re-entry due to current restrictions. Comments suggest that obtaining a bachelor's degree in Thailand could provide a pathway, while applying for a tourist visa has been mentioned as an alternative. However, strict entry requirements and potential high costs associated with COVID-19 protocols have been highlighted as significant barriers.

Some people say you might be successful if you enroll at Chiang Mai University, others say no. You would have to check into it yourself.

Sorry to hear you got stranded outside. If it's any consolation they're trying to make sure the ones still here studying have to leave too.

, then you should have been fully aware that language school students were not being let back into Thailand, as it has been heavily talked about for many months before you left. These restrictions have been in place since last May, when they started letting some types of visas back in. Your options now are very expensive to get back into Thailand, and will cost you many thousands of dollars, not baht. I sadly hate to think of what the emergency was that made you leave, and I hope everything concerning that is okay now.

, you're only option is to do exactly what the embassy said. If you are not in Thailand, and have not been here for a few months, you aren't going to school anyway. University is your only option, and when classes actually start, you can not start going midterm.

you don't have ANY options to enter on the ED extension you have now because you're enrolled in a private language course and at this time those are not allowed to apply for permission to enter the country.

You can apply for a tourist visa (IF it's available from the thai consulate there).. That'd be about the only option I see that'd get you back in, AND dont' forget you'd still need 100K USD in covid insurance, book a 14 day stay at a government approved quarantine facility here, have a fit-2-fly certificate from a doc, a negative covid test AND a Certificate of Entry..

actually it’s 15 nights. I start mine tomorrow. On a positive note, the Thai Embassy, at least here in Seoul, Korea is working diligently to process everyone and get them back to Thailand, as long as your documents are in order. I was blocked from flying on the Korean Air flight and I told them and they took care of it and it’s all good to go.

A number of embassies are now selling tourist visas and allowing certificate of entry with that. You’d have to check with your local embassy if allowed. You still have to do quarantine and Covid test, fit to fly and insurance, but it might be a way in for you.

The Thai universities offer a lot of different degree programs. Do you want a bachelors degree?

Im currenly enrolled at a language school. The embassy said that re entry for language schools are not yet allowed so Im looking for ways to obtain a bachelors degree program

@Wynie ****
The best way to enroll in a bachelors degree program is to contact the universities that offer those programs.

Your best bet would be to use Google (or your favorite search Engine) and type in

[city name] University

It'll bring up a list of universities that you can contact.
