My head is spinning from reading all the info. I want to return to Thailand for education visa. I was there, 1 entry Jan 30 day stamp even though I already had a 90 day sticker from Thai embassy in US. I left in 30, cam back mid Feb and the 90 day sticker was activated, I left after 2.5 months then returned oct on 30 tourist visa, left now want to return December to stay for 90 days. Do I go to Thai embassy in Bali ? Or arrive hope to get 30 day tourist and do in country Ed visa? My fear is my arrival in Dec I will get denied on too many entries. Please point me in right direction. Trying to comply with Thais stricter policies these days. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on how to return to Thailand for an education visa after several tourist visa entries, expressing concerns about potential entry denial due to their travel history. The community suggests contacting a legitimate school for assistance, applying for an Education visa from a Thai embassy outside Thailand (preferably before returning), and ensuring all necessary documentation and registration are in order to increase the chances of a smooth visa process.

, just so you're clear how an ED visa works.

You enroll, pay the tuition, get documentation from the school and apply for a 90 day single entry ED visa from a thai consulate. <- that's where you're gonna have a problem given your prior entry history :O

However for the sake of arguement lets say you DO get the 90 day ED visa. You get stamped into the country for 90 days and when that 90 days runs out you get documentation from the school go to the thai immigration office and apply for a 90 day extension. You would do that the whole year (if it's a year class).

If you're a student, talk to the school. They are the experts and can arrange for the visa and the extension of stay.

Are you looking for a tourist visa? How many tourist visas do you have?

Oh another question, since the school offers a 1 year price. After 6 months would I be able to leave to travel 3 months then come back and pick it up again ? Sorry for all the questions but as a Nomad I don’t tend to stay in places so long, 6 months is already a long commitment lol

No it’s a combo 3 days for language 1 day for culture. Got it so 3 month increments. I’m ok with testing since, like I mentioned, I’ve alreafy been learning from my friend. Ok I think it’s sorted since it says it takes 30-45 days and I’m still traveling for 46 days if all goes as planned. Hope I don’t have to hit Laos since I will be in Sri Lanka next month and it would be a wasted Laos visit. Appreciate the info. Question, what happens if I turn 50? Are they more strict ?

I’m not looking to not go to class and I stay in Chiang Mai. I am traveling Bali and Sri Lanka so those are where I can go to embassy. My friend is already enrolled in the school I reached out to. It’s a legit school and my intention is to learn Thai. I have many Thai friends and love languages. So this is all legit I just want to follow the rules properly. I think the school I chose can help me figure it out so when I return I will have the proper papers dialed in. I just did not want to re enter on another tourist visa since my plan was to go to class and it starts Jan 4.

I did not over stay. I had a 30 day on 1st entry because IO ignored the visa from embassy. Then I went to Laos on “visa run/holiday” I re entered and was given 90 days. I came back last month and got 30 days again I left now I’m traveling 2 months and have started to learn Thai already from my friends so decided I should go to school to properly learn and here we are. I’m not in Laos I will go to Thai embassy in Bali or Sri Lanka.

I went to Thai embassy in US and they gave me it, I just asked for a 90 day visa and got it. I had/have no clue what they all mean.

Contact you school, if you and them are serious with that you actually want to study and the school is a real one and not a visa-mill, they can assist you.

my understanding is that of you want an ed visa, the actual visa needs to be from a thai embassy OUTSIDE of thailand. so even if you come back in with a tourist visa; i would suggest you get a 60 day tourist visa from the thai embassy rather than attempt another 30 day upon arrival (for safer probability of entry) and you get all your school stuff organized here, you still have to leave the country again to get the ED visa because the government does not offer them in the country. i’m pretty sure you can also organize it with the school online, from outside the country, so that you can just get it organized and then come back in with it, rather than have to come and go. that’s my understanding anyways. see what other people say

stickers get activated, stamps, 30 day visa, 90 day sticker? You even got my head spinning around. You visit a school who teach what you really want to learn, talk with the school if it is possible for them to register you as a student inside Thailand and get the documents for you to apply for the Non Immigrant ED visa. It is not just another sticker which you can at a Thai Embassy.
